Breastfeeding and Infant Feeding Workshop

Breastfeeding Support Cheshire

Breastfeeding, and feeding your baby in general, is an amazing way to connect with and nourish your baby and help support you both to get to know each other in the early days of parenthood. But it doesn’t always come without its challenges.

Plus, with busy schedules and heavy caseloads, midwives are not always equipped with the time needed to spend with new parents. There is evidence that breastfeeding parents who receive antenatal education are often set up to succeed in their journey though. For this reason, one-on-one interactive workshops can be beneficial for new, or expectant, parents.

I have over a 16 years of experience in breastfeeding support, working alongside several national breastfeeding support organisations and NHS services. Through my experience, I have gained a wealth of knowledge and skills that I can use to support parents to successfully breastfeed their babies and signpost to early help if issues arise. I’m also well connected with other healthcare professionals, including lactation consultants and midwives across the Northwest, ensuring I can make swift referrals to competent professionals if required.

In the breastfeeding and infant feeding workshop you will discover:

  • The biological and practical aspects of breastfeeding
  • Positioning and attachment
  • The basics of breastfeeding
  • What to expect in the early days
  • How to express and store breast milk
  • Tips and tricks to overcome issues
  • Alternative feeding methods

All of my sessions are provided in clinic, at home in Manchester, Mersyeside, Cheshire and Lancashire. They can also be arranged online via Zoom.

Nikki’s knowledge is fantastic, we asked her to help with Breastfeeding & Rebozo Antenatal Workshop and because it was done one to one with us at home it felt very relaxed but at the same time informative which as meant both myself and husband can now make an informed decision about our wishes both for the birth and also for feeding the baby. It’s reassuring to know that the back up is also there from Nikki in terms of Postnatal support if required. Thanks x
